Injury doesn't end a career. Silence does.

Accidentarea nu îți termină cariera. Lipsa de sprijin o face.

We talk about winning.

We celebrate performance.

But we don’t talk about what happens when it’s over.

For many young athletes, it doesn’t end with a final game.

It ends with an injury.

One moment you’re training every day.

The next, you’re on the sidelines - and no one tells you what comes after.

Because the system was never built for that.

After years of discipline, sacrifice, and identity built around sport, too many young athletes are left alone to deal with loss, anxiety, and uncertainty.

Not because recovery is impossible.

But because support is missing.

In high-performance sport, injury is not an exception. It’s part of the process.

And yet, mental recovery is still treated as optional.

That is a failure of the system.

We don’t just need better rehabilitation.

We need transition support. Psychological support. Real pathways after sport.

Because when a young athlete loses sport, they don’t just lose a routine.

They lose direction.

This is not only a sports issue.

It’s a public responsibility.

I’m Nicholas Carstoiu - athlete and youth advocate - and I believe we can do better.

We can build systems that don’t abandon athletes when they are most vulnerable.

Systems that prepare them not just to compete - but to adapt, recover, and continue.

Because true performance systems don’t break people.

They build them - even after the game is over.

Vorbim despre victorie.

Celebram performanta.

Avem nevoie de sprijin real in tranzitie. Sprijin psihologic. Alternative dupa sport.
