I'M 17, I PLAY BASKETBALL, AND I'M DONE PRETENDING ROMANIA CARES ABOUT YOUNG ATHLETES' MINDSSport saved my mental health. More than once. That is not a metaphor. That is what happened. And yet in Romania, sport remains a privilege. Clubs are expensive. Infrastructure is unequal. Psychological support inside sports environments is virtually nonexistent. We celebrate champions and ignore everyone else. The WHO confirms that physical activity reduces depression and anxiety — yet 80% of adolescents worldwide don't meet recommended activity levels: https://lnkd.in/d4hjyCP3 The WHO also confirms that suicide is the third leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 29, and that half of all adult mental health disorders begin before age 18 — most going undetected and untreated: https://lnkd.in/dtcwYAB7 We have the data. We have the solution. What we lack is the will.My ask is concrete: integrated sport and mental health programs in public schools, coaches trained to recognize a struggling child, and free access to organized sport for families who cannot afford it.This is not utopia. It is a policy choice other countries have already made. I am Nicholas Carstoiu, athlete and member of the Children's Board of Romania supported by UNICEF, and I believe no child should grow up without access to sport — because taking sport away from a child means taking away the most accessible tool they have to protect their mind. Romania doesn't need another report. It needs to move. ___________________________________hashtag#MentalHealth hashtag#SportForAll hashtag#Basketball hashtag#Romania hashtag#UNICEF hashtag#UNICEFRomania hashtag#SANE hashtag#ErasmusPlus hashtag#AgentiaNationalaForSport hashtag#ChildrensRights hashtag#YouthVoice hashtag#SportsAmbassador hashtag#NicholasCarstoiu hashtag#NichoCarstoiu hashtag#LRF hashtag#LiceulRomanoFinlandez hashtag#AlexandruCarstoiu hashtag#Edupedu hashtag#Digi24 hashtag#Carstoiu

AM 17 ANI, JOC BASCHET SI M-AM SATURAT SA PRETIND CA ROMANIA ARE GRIJA DE MINTEA TINERILOR EISportul mi-a salvat sanatatea mentala de mai multe ori. Infrastructura e inegala. Sprijinul psihologic in mediul sportiv e aproape inexistent. Avem solutia. Are nevoie sa se miste. ___________________________________hashtag#SanatateaMentala hashtag#SportPentruToti hashtag#Baschet hashtag#Romania hashtag#UNICEF hashtag#UNICEFRomania hashtag#SANE hashtag#ErasmusPlus hashtag#AgentiaNationalaForSport hashtag#DrepturileCopilului hashtag#VoceaTinerilor hashtag#NicholasCarstoiu hashtag#NichoCarstoiu hashtag#LRF hashtag#LiceulRomanoFinlandez hashtag#AlexandruCarstoiu hashtag#Edupedu hashtag#Digi24 hashtag#Carstoiu
