Screens are raising your child. Not you.
Let’s stop pretending this is normal!
More and more teenagers are growing up without basic physical skills. They struggle to run, to coordinate simple movements, to sustain effort. Not because they are incapable-but because they were never pushed, guided, or encouraged to move.
Instead, they were given comfort. And screens.
Hours every day. No limits. No structure. No alternatives.
And while this happens, sport becomes optional. Movement becomes secondary. Effort becomes something to avoid.
This is not care. This is avoidance.
We already know-from established research in health and youth development-that physical activity is essential for mental health, confidence, and cognitive development. What is harder to accept is that the absence of it creates patterns that are difficult to reverse later in life.
And yes- this starts at home.
Not with bad intentions. But with small decisions repeated daily: one more hour on the phone, one more skipped training, one more excuse.
But this can change.
* Set clear, non-negotiable limits on screen time
* Reintroduce sport as a normal part of life, not a punishment
* Allow teenagers to start again without pressure or comparison
* Choose environments where participation and growth matter more than performance
It is not too late. But it will become.
Real strength is not built on a screen.
It is built through movement, effort, discipline, and real human interaction.

If we want stronger, healthier generations, we cannot outsource their upbringing to screens.
Haideti sa nu mai pretindem ca este normal!
Din ce in ce mai multi adolescenti cresc fara abilitati fizice de baza. Le este greu sa alerge, sa isi coordoneze miscarile, sa sustina efortul. Nu pentru ca nu pot - ci pentru ca nu au fost incurajati, ghidati si impinsi sa o faca.
In schimb, au primit confort. Si ecrane.
Ore intregi zilnic. Fara limite. Fara structura. Fara alternative.
Iar in tot acest timp, sportul devine optional. Miscarea devine secundara. Efortul devine ceva de evitat.
Asta nu este grija. Este evitare.
Stim deja - din cercetari solide in sanatate si dezvoltare - ca miscarea este esentiala pentru sanatatea mentala, incredere si dezvoltare cognitiva. Mai greu de acceptat este ca lipsa ei creeaza dezechilibre care devin tot mai greu de corectat.
Si da - totul incepe acasa.
Nu din intentii rele. Ci din decizii mici, repetate zilnic: inca o ora pe telefon, inca un antrenament ratat, inca o scuza acceptata.
Dar lucrurile se pot schimba.
* Stabiliti limite clare pentru timpul petrecut pe ecrane
* Reintroduceti sportul ca normalitate, nu ca pedeapsa
* Permiteti adolescentilor sa reinceapa fara presiune
* Alegeti medii in care participarea conteaza mai mult decat performanta
Nu este prea tarziu. Dar va deveni.
Puterea reala nu se construieste pe ecran.
Se construieste prin miscare, efort, disciplina si interactiune reala.
Sunt Nicholas Carstoiu, sportiv si implicat in initiative pentru tineri, si cred ca suntem responsabili pentru obiceiurile pe care le permitem si standardele pe care le acceptam.
Daca vrem generatii mai puternice si mai sanatoase, nu mai putem lasa ecranele sa le creasca in locul nostru.
