Module 03 · TRUST // NO TRUST

TRAP: too good to be true

Maya, 15, met Dani online two weeks ago. At first it was the best friendship ever; now something feels wrong. Read their conversation and mark the exact moment it stops being a normal friendship. Then pick out the warning signs and decide what Maya should do. After that, follow Elena, 16, through the loverboy method, the most dangerous version of the same pattern, and decide how to protect a friend. At the end you get a score out of 100, the official figures and an information window on what every girl, and every boy, should know. Nothing is shown explicitly.

Questions and answers

What is TRAP?

TRAP is the third module of TRUST // NO TRUST: a short exercise where you read a fictional conversation and find the moment an online friendship becomes manipulative.

Is the content safe for teenagers?

Yes. Both stories are invented and nothing is shown explicitly. The loverboy method is explained at pattern level, as the stages a teenager goes through, so that the warning signs can be recognised early. The focus is on isolation, secrecy, pressure and threats. A preparation screen and an "Exit now" button are always available, and the scenario will be reviewed by child-protection specialists before final publication.

How is the score calculated?

The five steps are worth 30, 20, 15, 20 and 15 points. Finding the exact turning point earns all 30; choosing a message just before or after earns part of them. Everyone reads the same conversation, so scores can be compared.
